Who are we?

ASSETtrac Ltd was formed in 1999 by director Stephen Laing with the experience of some 25 years as a Lloyd�s broker in the City of London and abroad. The company is based in Mid Sussex but we travel to most parts of the UK to demonstrate our services.

The company�s initial focus was to enable clients to improve the physical security of their moveable assets. This started with the provision of objective advice on unique identification and the supply of a range of tagging devices including barcode labels and RFID microchips, radio frequency identification devices commonly found in animals. Ian Athersmith joined as technical director in 2003 and is the author of all our software products. In a short time the company has developed a number of household name clients as detailed below, who want the latest solutions to asset tracking and management.

ASSET MANAGEMENT- A Three Part Approach

• ASSETtrac enables clients to apply a completely unique identity to their moveable assets or fixed equipment, and supplies all types of quality marking devices to suit individual circumstances. Being independent of any supplier, we are in a unique position to advise objectively on the relevant characteristics of each type, taking into account tag characteristics, client procedures, the environment, and budget. Assets range from computers and office equipment to school inventories, site machinery and power tools to vehicles and gas cylinders. High grade security labels or covert marking systems provide the bonus of theft deterrence and proof of ownership.
• We supply low cost barcode and RFID handheld scanners to read tags, and handheld computers for surveys and inspections.
• We create software programs available off the shelf or developed to customer requirements, integrating tag numbers and data to address regular business needs such as tracking, compliance and maintenance records, marketing, depreciation and insurance values. Fast paper-free audits and bookings are a major benefit.

PAT Testing for the 21st Century

• ASSETtrac carries out PAT testing in a modern, efficient and unique way. Utilising our very own software system based on hand-held PDAs, we beam the results from each job directly to a webserver, immediately after the tests have been carried out, where they are instantly available for viewing by our clients on a webpage, accessed via a secure login system.
• The results can be downloaded as MS Excel spreadsheets or in the popular PDF document format, thus negating the need to send anything on paper by post.
• This system is so efficient that there is no need for drivers to waste fuel or add to CO2 emissions by driving back to an office with PAT data.
• Because our system works remotely we can offer a truly nationwide PAT Testing service of the highest standard.
